- Definition
- Number of people affected, injured or killed during floods and mudflows, including those caught by the disaster while travelling on roads.
- Calculation method
- All incidents on roads (vehicles overturning into water, vehicles washed away by a mudflow, roads buried by a landslide) that resulted in people being affected or killed are subject to strict recording. Deaths: The number of people killed on roads includes all persons who were in vehicles and who died of their injuries or drowned at the scene of the incident (as well as within 7 days of the accident). Affected: This category includes all passengers and drivers who sustained bodily injuries, as well as people trapped in vehicles on flooded or destroyed road sections awaiting evacuation. The indicator is calculated annually.
