Methodology

Indicator metadata

Definition
Characterizes the share of renewable energy sources in total electricity generation. Renewable energy sources are sources that are continuously replenished through natural processes. They include: solar radiation energy, wind energy, hydrodynamic energy of water, geothermal energy (heat of the ground, groundwater, rivers and water bodies), as well as anthropogenic sources of primary energy resources, such as consumer waste, biomass, biogas and other waste-derived fuels used to produce electricity and/or heat.
Calculation method
Calculated as the percentage ratio of electricity generation from renewable energy sources to the total volume of electricity generated in the entire power system. The indicator is calculated twice a year.
Institution responsible for calculation
Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan
