- Definition
- The total length of all modernized or new canals and pipelines that supply water to fields. This indicator is used in agriculture and statistics to assess the scale of introduction of advanced irrigation technologies that reduce water losses.
- Calculation method
- Basic formula for determining the total length of canals or pipelines (in metres): Lобщ = (N х Lучастка) + Lмаг + Lраспр where: N is the number of irrigation rows in the plot; Lучастка is the length of the irrigated plot or the length of one line/drip line; Lмаг is the length of the main pipeline (supplies water from the source); Lраспр is the length of the distribution pipelines (connect the main pipeline to the rows). The indicator is calculated annually.
