- Definition
- The ratio of the number of observation points in the reporting year to the required number of observation points for hydrological monitoring.
- Calculation method
- The coverage of the territory by hydrological posts (HP) is assessed in order to identify “blank spots” on the basis of the ratio of the number of observation points to the area of the catchment or administrative region. Density formula: P = (N / S) х 1000 where: N is the number of posts, S is the area of the territory, km². Territorial localization coefficient: The ratio of the region’s share of posts to its share of the area. It makes it possible to identify whether the territory is overloaded with posts relative to the national average. The indicator is calculated annually.
