- Definition
- Snow cover depth is the thickness of the layer of snow covering the ground surface.
- Calculation method
- Snow cover depth is measured in centimetres using snow-measuring stakes. For an accurate calculation in the field, the arithmetic mean of several measurements taken at a level site is used. The indicator is calculated monthly.
