Indicator metadata
- Definition
- This is a land fund indicator reflecting the size of agricultural land and perennial plantations that regularly or potentially suffer from the destructive impact of floods and mudflows.
- Calculation method
- The calculation of the area of agricultural land and orchards exposed to mudflows and floods is based on an analysis of land cadastre data combined with maps of inundation zones and mudflow hazard zones. The assessment uses geographic information systems (GIS), which overlay the vector boundaries of land plots on elevation grids, satellite imagery data and hydrological survey data. The indicator is calculated annually.
